About Dr Mark Matthews

Dr Matthews was born in Sydney and graduated from the University of NSW in 1973. He then trained for 4 years at the Mater Hospital in Brisbane, including 2 years residency and 2 years in Anaesthetics and Emergency medicine. Dr Matthews then joined a country practice in rural Picton, NSW for 8 years, and moving back to Brisbane in 1986 he has since transformed the one doctor ‘Fiveways Medical’ practice into the multi-doctor clinic that we have today. He continues as Foundation Principal here at Graceville Medical.

Medical Interests: skin checks and its medical and surgical management, including regular Wednesday morning minor operations session
Leisure: music – classical and jazz, opera, ballet, reading and fine food and wine
